The Story

High-Performance Damp-Proofing Treatment for Rising Damp in Masonry Walls

Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods are a patented, high-strength rising damp treatment developed for fast, clean, and effective installation. Each rod contains a powerful silane/siloxane formulation housed in a rigid fibre cartridge, allowing direct insertion into pre-drilled holes. Once inserted, the active ingredient diffuses deep into the wall structure, creating a permanent barrier against rising damp. BBA-approved and ideal for use in brick, stone, and mortar substrates.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Clean & Precise: No mess, no waste – each rod delivers a consistent dose with minimal disruption.
  • High Performance: Delivers a deep, uniform silane-based barrier for long-lasting damp protection.
  • Fast Installation: Pre-measured rods are quick and simple to insert with no specialist tools required.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for most masonry types, including brick, stone, and mortar joints.
  • BBA Certified: Independently tested and approved for reliability and effectiveness.

Product Details

  • Pack Size: 50 rods
  • Rod Size: 12mm diameter x 180mm length
  • Chemistry: Silane/siloxane-based active ingredient
  • Cure Time: Forms a barrier typically within 2–4 weeks under normal conditions
  • Coverage: Approx. 1 rod per 120mm of wall thickness (1 metre length)

Application Instructions

  1. Drill Holes: Drill 12mm diameter holes at regular intervals along the mortar bed, typically 120mm apart and at the recommended height.
  2. Insert Rods: Push one Dryrod into each hole until fully recessed.
  3. Seal Holes: Plug or repoint the holes to restore the wall finish and retain treatment.
  4. Allow to Cure: The active ingredient disperses into the wall, forming a damp-proof course over the coming weeks.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for walls below 95mm in thickness.
  • Do not use if masonry is saturated with standing water.

Health & Safety

Wear gloves and eye protection during installation. Wash hands after handling. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full guidance on safe use.
